Nordic Museum & the Troll
Home of the giant, climbable troll Frankie Feetsplinters. Explore Nordic culture, exhibits, and events at the museum. A fun, accessible outing with great cafe options (Freya Cafe) for tea and treats. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon in Ballard.

Sam's Sushi
My favorite spot for fresh, high quality sushi in Ballard. Located just a half block from the Ballard Library - easy landmark. Great for a relaxed meal with excellent service and exquisite presentation, and senior-friendly portions. Drop in person or order online for pickup/delivery.

Ray's Boathouse
Stunning waterfront dining in Ballard with incredible sunset views. I love their delicious salads and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks like the Sunset Cooler. The affogato is dangerously good! A perfect spot for a special meal or a relaxing evening.
Golden Gardens Park
One of my favorite places to watch paddle boarders with dogs and young children on the water. Relaxed beach vibe with beautiful views. New this season: 2 mobile saunas on trailer hitches near the picnic sheds - a fun way to warm up after a walk or swim!

North Cascades National Park - Diablo Lake
A breathtaking 2½-hour drive from Seattle to see the stunning turquoise glacial waters of Diablo Lake. Part of the North Cascades National Park with dramatic mountain views. The Pacific Crest Trail (which runs from Canada to Mexico) passes nearby — a very long walk!

Olympic Athletic Club
My longtime gym - welcoming, senior-friendly with great classes and equipment. Highly recommended.
